Jobot: compact mobile robot for internal transport of small loads
Jobot® is a compact mobile robot designed to support internal transport of small loads in structured production environments.
The solution is developed in collaboration with technology partners in the automation sector and integrates a mission management software platform developed by Eureka System.
The system is intended for simple handling operations between loading and unloading points within predefined internal logistics flows.
Evolution of the technology
Based on experience gained in the autonomous handling of small loads, a dedicated solution has been developed for managing carts and more structured transport units: HELKO, a mobile robot designed for advanced, customisable intralogistics applications.
HELKO is a “truck robot”-type AMR designed to tow carts and workbenches weighing up to 500 kg, with a high level of customisation tailored to industrial applications.
Use in intralogistics
Jobot can be used for internal transport tasks in structured production environments, where repetitive material movements between different operational areas need to be supported.
Its use is focused on supporting internal logistics flows, without introducing additional complexity into existing processes.
Applications for environmental sanitisation
In specific configurations, Jobot can also be used to support environmental sanitisation activities through UV-C systems.
This application is intended for dedicated operational scenarios where automated support for disinfection processes is required.
5G and Edge Computing integration
Jobot has been used in research contexts to evaluate communication scenarios between robotic systems and digital infrastructures.
The activities focused on exploring interaction models between connected devices and remote control systems in industrial environments.
Integration, configurability and customisation
Jobot® can be configured with accessories tailored to the application context to support internal material handling activities.
The system can interface with enterprise platforms via standard protocols such as REST and SQL. Integration with external systems and devices present in the operating environment is also possible.
Configuration is defined based on the layout and requirements of the production process.
Efficiency and fleet management
The use of multiple Jobot units enables support for internal handling activities in structured production environments.
Tasks are coordinated by a fleet management system that distributes missions across available units based on operational demand.
The system supports mission planning and communication between robots.
Mapping
Jobot’s navigation system allows it to operate within digitally mapped industrial environments.
During installation, an environment map is created that enables the robot to execute missions and localise itself within the operating space.
The system manages obstacles and updates routes based on environmental conditions.
Autonomous navigation without infrastructure
Jobot is designed to operate in industrial environments without dedicated physical infrastructure.
Navigation is based on a digital map of the environment, enabling autonomous mission execution and adaptation to changes in the operating context.
During configuration, constraints and usage rules are defined for route planning.
Application areas and operational flexibility
Jobot is a mobile robot designed to support small-load intralogistics handling tasks within structured production and logistics environments.
Its use is focused on repetitive transport flows between defined operational areas.
Technical specifications
- Jobot weight: approx. 35 kg
- Payload capacity: 30 kg ~ 50 kg
- Maximum incline: 8%
Operational autonomy
Jobot is designed to operate a standard working shift, depending on the operating cycle and usage conditions.
The system monitors battery status and supports fleet management.
Supporting the reduction of handling time
The use of mobile robots, such as Jobot, can help reduce manual tasks related to internal transport.
In environments with repetitive flows, mission automation contributes to operational continuity and better organisation of internal logistics.
Installation and commissioning
Installation includes mapping the operating environment and configuring the main working areas.
During this phase, layout constraints and navigation rules required for mission execution are defined.
From small load handling to advanced mobile robotics
Mobile robotics solutions can evolve from systems designed for small load handling to more complex platforms dedicated to advanced industrial logistics.
In this context, HELKO represents a solution specifically designed for the handling of carts and workbenches, tailored for high-variability production environments and more structured logistics flows.
