CAM-robot

The robot that directly translates CAD drawings into robotic trajectories

Overcome the limits of traditional robotic programming with CAM-robot

There is no need to write robot toolpaths manually or redo the setup of a CNC machine for each new machining operation. With the CAM-robot, all this is automated in a few simple steps: the robot directly interprets DXF files in real time to perform machining and finishing operations on ever-changing surfaces.

With this innovative Smart Manufacturing solution capable of easily adapting to new machining and toolpath configurations, Eureka System offers a flexible and dynamic robotic system:

  • An industrial anthropomorphic robot operating as a machining centre.
  • G-code interpretation software (DIN66025 standard).
  • A user-friendly GUI, directly controllable by the field operator.

This unique robotic solution was conceived and developed by Eureka System using a COMAU anthropomorphic robotic arm equipped with a KEBA controller. The KEBA system manages the safety, motion, and logic controls of the robot in all its different operations, thus making this complex automation process possible.

Speed and repeatability characterise the six-axis movement of the CAM-robot, with an inimitable capacity for movement and flexibility, especially suitable for

  • Multi-level surfaces
  • Non-linear surfaces
  • Workpieces of different sizes and shapes
  • Varying small batches
  • Custom manufacturing and customisations

Using a 2D technical drawing, the software we have developed automatically generates the robotic toolpath to be followed to perform the required machining operation and sends the commands to the CAM-Robot.

Thanks to our CAM-robot solution, setup times between one workpiece and the next are significantly reduced. It is no longer necessary to manually write the robotic toolpaths or to pre-set and set up a CNC machine each time in order to perform machining processes; using the CAM-Robot, you simply import the .dfx file for the workpiece you are about to send for machining, and in a few steps, the robot will execute the new machining path.

Flexibility

Dynamic, user-friendly configuration of all robotic machining toolpaths for parts to be produced.

Reliability

Graphic simulation of machining toolpaths directly within the software, with verification of errors and faults.

Automation

Automatic generation of robot trajectories: from simple CAD files, the software directly exports the command data required by the robot.
